In a professional mash-up of competencies, Visikon took part in the kick-off of project SmartClinic a few weeks back – an ambitious project to develop a generic model for digitizing the treatment of patients with chronic diseases.

So – what, and perhaps more importantly, how?

Centered around Inflammatory Bowel Disease, also known as IBD, the project will focus on two approaches: Clinic Online and Clinic on Demand.

Clinic Online will be for those with a certain stability to their condition.

Here, there will be no need for frequent visits to a clinic or the hospital, but instead, we will utilize self-monitoring at home, assisted by newly developed apps and test kits.

Clinic on Demand is the opposite.

These patients face more urgent challenges with their disease. Clinic on Demand will trial new technologies, aiming for faster test results to initiate treatment earlier than we can today.

Visikon will lead in developing health communication and animations to better the patient’s health literacy and improve their sense of comfort – despite going through treatment across distances.

But we cannot do it alone.

We are proud to be involved with such great partners in this project across the strait between Denmark and Sweden, and we look forward to the work ahead of us, together with Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-SkagerrakSjællands Universitetshospital, Skånes universitetssjukhus (Skåne University Hospital) and University of Gothenburg
